  One thing that we all can agree is that the global lockdown took its toll on our mental health. It has been more than a year of isolation, anxiety, potential losses, and vagueness. Some saw it as a sneaky way to slow down their lives, while others got stuck in a stressful loop of uncertainty. Months of lockdown sure got our loved ones closer to us. Behavioral Activation and Community Events Post COVID-19

Scheduling and then engaging in pleasurable activities, also called behavioral activation in the mental health world, is a therapy technique that is often used to treat individuals with depression and anxiety. Research consistently demonstrates that when we experience an increase in mental health symptoms, we are likely to begin isolating more. Inadvertently, we may not notice that we are not socializing as much or are not taking part in previously enjoyed endeavors. COVID-19 of course led nearly all of us to engage in fewer social endeavors. People often imagine pregnancy as a time of hopes and dreams filled with positivity, but often moms can feel very different than they expected even if the pregnancy has been a long-time plan. Working through that “mom-guilt” can be one of the most difficult and most important things to be able to do during pregnancy and postpartum. Primary caregivers often encounter feelings of shame, embarrassment, or guilt surrounding the decisions they make in course of pregnancy and raising their children. During the covid-19 pandemic, increased fear, anxiety, and isolation it may feel even harder to manage the stress and anxiety of navigating a new arrival. While these feelings may never dissipate entirely, there are steps you can take to help keep them in check and use them to your advantage.
